My daughter had a ballet recital today. I tried to take some pictures at dress rehearsal last night, but I forgot to set my white balance while the other groups were dancing. They put these tremendously warm gels on the lights and I was simultaneously hurrying to capture everything I could and panicking at the horridly neon orange skin on my LCD.
I was very nervous while editing tonight that I wouldn't be able to save the pictures.
But thanks to my raw format image files, Adobe Lightroom, and Courtney's tips on how to correct white balance in Lightroom, I was able to fix these pictures in two seconds.
If you've been on the fence about trying raw format, I urge you to give it a shot. It has some pretty amazing capabilities.
