Wednesday, I told you that Sweetpea gave boxes of Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans as her class valentines. They were a big hit. They caused quite a commotion, as you can imagine, as the kids tasted them. We heard stories today of some kids tricking their siblings into eating the gross ones. Ha!
Today after school, we opened our boxes. We dumped them all out, sorted them by flavor, and made a chart to keep track of which flavors we liked and which we didn't. (The chart was an idea from Little Dude's kindergarten teacher, so he could practice his writing. It took a lot of convincing on my part, but he ended up loving the responsibility.)
Here are our results. We gave checkmarks to flavors we liked, and Xs to flavors we didn't like. Really bad flavors received multiple Xs. I nearly lost it when I tried the Earthworm, Earwax, and Rotten Egg flavors. Truly disgusting.
By the time we got to the Vomit flavor, we cut it, smelled it, and were so revolted by the smell (and so tired of the previous nasty flavors) that we unanimously voted to skip it. It was that bad.
Whew. It's going to be a long time before I feel like eating jelly beans again.
Have you tried these novelties?
