Last week I made turkey burgers for dinner.
(One pound ground turkey, small handful of rolled oats, one egg, 1/4 cup barbecue sauce, dash worcestershire, s&p. Divide into four patties and cook in a skillet with a little oil until no longer pink inside.)
The kids topped theirs with tomato, ketchup and pickle.
Hubs topped his with all the contents of the fridge (he's a Dagwood kind of guy).
I tried something new for me: a little mayo, tomato, marinated artichoke hearts, and kalamata olives. It was the perfect salty touch for this "healthy burger" that is definitely improved with a large dose of flavor.
What's your favorite non-traditional burger topper?
