I love how a quick trip out to the backyard to take one picture
turns into a half hour game of seek and snap.
And then you bring some of the backyard into the house and snap some more.
I love the magic that happens when you combine glass, water and light.
I love hydrangeas, and I neglected mine until it was almost too late.
At their peak, they're much more blue.
But they're still lovely.
Here's a fun one, and I added a pull back shot
so you can see the lengths to which I go to find the right light.
That butcher block board we bought from IKEA's As-Is section for $13 nine years ago is really coming in handy. It's going to be turned into a rolling kitchen cart any minute now (which will really end up being my mobile food photography station. . . shh), but while it's waiting, it lives in the back of our closet. I gave it a job to make it feel special. :)
Go out and document your summery backyard before the summer is over!
