For months, I have watched my tremendously talented sister-in-law capture gorgeous floral macro images. We don't often have fresh flowers in the house during the cold months, but we do after Nutcracker weekend! (Sweetpea has danced in a local production of the Nutcracker for four years now, and she usually receives a few bouquets.)
So while the kids were finishing lunch, I took advantage of the light—which seems to peak around noon these days—and played around. I had so much fun exploring the shapes of the flowers and seeing which tiny details I could bring out with a sliver of focus.
