327/366 turkey trot

Happy Thanksgiving! We started our Turkey Day off running our first ever 3k race as a family. The kids have been participating in a local kids' running club this fall (Mostly Sweetpea. Little Dude tags along and participates when he's not too grumpy after a long grueling day of kindergarten.) They had their last Running Club session last week, and we thought this would be a great way to celebrate their hard work.

Sweetpea did fantastic. She jogged the whole way, nice and steady. So, so proud of her! Little Dude would sprint to catch up, then get tired and walk, then sprint and walk again. His road was more challenging, but he still did the whole 1.8 miles on his own two feet. Quite an accomplishment for a 5 year old!

How was your Thanksgiving? Do you make exercise part of your Thanksgiving traditions?

How fun! I think my exercise this year was in patience. It was hard not to eat lots of extra dessert since I AM eating for two;-)

I did a turkey trot! I RAN an entire mile, which is big for me. You know I'm not a runner. It was on the beach. Short sleeves. Glorious. Damon and his brother did a 10k, but I'm a beginner, so a mile was an accomplishment for me.
