I spent the afternoon welcoming new parents and students to our elementary school, and telling them about our PTO. I am not a salesperson and I don't like pushy volunteer groups, which makes me a horrible recruiter. I'm a “Provide Information and Answer Questions” kind of person. So that's what I did. Two hours of that—sitting at a table, mind you—left me exhausted. It takes serious effort to overcome my introverted ways, even for a couple of hours.
One more sleep until the school year starts for us. If tomorrow morning looks anything like this morning, the kids and I will be inspired and energized for the new year!
