The fire tonight is 40% contained. Almost all the evacuees have been allowed back to their homes, but need to be ready to evacuate again at any time. Higher winds are expected before our next chance of precipitation. Amazingly, no structures have been burned.
The hillsides are black. “Powerful” does not even come close to describing wildfire.
