I'm a bit of a purist when it comes to cropping. I like to stick to the rectangular format my camera produces. But these needed a square crop. That's the best thing about this picture-a-day project—I can experiment with new ideas all year long.
And as I was waiting for the sun to dip low enough, our wind chime made a shadow in the shape of an H on the wall. It probably happens every day this time of year, but I've never noticed it before. It's like I stumbled on a fun little secret my house was keeping.
