I burned some oil the other day as I was preparing dinner. I turned on the pan to heat it, added the olive oil, but took too long chopping my vegetables and the oil started smoking. I turned off the heat, opened a window, and started cleaning the pan. The kids were making noise, so I turned around to check on them and saw the late afternoon sun streaming through the smoky air. (It wasn't really that smoky—unnoticeable except in the light.)
Of course, dinner was delayed further because I had to take pictures before the smoke (and rays) disappeared; a small price to pay for such a rare photographic occurrence.
