tulips

It's amazing to me how something as ugly as a bulb can produce such beautiful flowers.
Some of these we inherited when we moved in, but most we planted.
H loves the variety. She's a flower princess.

I must confess: I covet my neighbor's yard full of tulips.
Big bright brushstrokes of colored petals.
It's truly amazing.

But she's had a lifetime of tulip collecting.
I've only just begun.

Aren't bulbs great...I sometimes forget what I plant...so when they bloom...it's makes for a happy surprise. Your tulips are perfect.

Britt--Let me know which one you like and I'll send you the full resolution image. It prints better that way.

Andrea--Last time I planted a bunch, I actually drew myself a map so I'd know where everything was. It came in handy, but ruined the surprise effect. But it's still exciting when they come up! Tulips are so cheery.
