One of the things I miss about scrapbooking was experimenting with my handwriting. I would try to recreate my favorite fonts by hand, or try to fill spaces with hand-drawn text. I loved it.
I don't scrapbook anymore, but I do still make cards. I've decided that one of my goals for this year is to rekindle my handwriting love when making my cards—to include more of myself, to challenge myself, to document my creative attempts.
Much of my inspiration comes from two ladies that inspired me from the beginning of my scrapbook days—Ali Edwards and Becky Higgins—and two ladies that I've found since I started blogging—Melissa Esplin (of IS•LY) and Marta Dansie (of Marta Writes). Not only do these four women have beautiful handwriting, but they use it, they celebrate it, they give handwriting importance.
And it is important. Most definitely, in these days of email and blogs and texts, beautiful handwriting is important.
How do you celebrate your handwriting?
